On the shortest day of the year, December 21st, we celebrate short films in screenings all over the country. Short Film Day (”Kortfilmsdagen”) was initiatiated by the Swedish Film Institute with the aim of highlighting the short film. Short Film Day is managed by Folkets Bio.

Everyone can own the event by organising public short film screenings, in all places and on all types of screens – cinemas, factories, bars, restaurants, theatres, museums, libraries, schools, universities, hospitals, public places, shopping centres, TV channels, websites…

The concept was launched in 2011 in France, and has since then grown. This year, over twenty countries are participating.
